FAQs

Where are you based?

South Oxfordshire, but I travel wherever the brief takes me. I love discovering places I've not seen before, meeting new people, and definitely thrive exploring different cultures and locations.

So, you will travel for shoots?

Definitely. Over the past 25 years I’ve been lucky enough to photograph for clients in America, France, Italy, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Cyprus, Dubai, Goa, Sri Lanka and Mauritius. And, of course, widely across the UK.

Do you have a particular style?

Not really. But if there's one thing I do it's to always look for the unexpected in a shot. And I'm as comfortable shooting a wedding with a fashion-led slant as I am taking natural, timeless portraits of families and children. And most importantly, I also know I have a knack of being able to help people relax in front of the camera, so they don't come across as stilted or awkward. Making people feel comfortable in front of the camera is a huge part of what I do.

How much do you charge?

That really depends on the shoot. For example, portrait shoots starts at £150, with people typically spending anything between £500-£2,000 dependent on what type of shoot they want, whereas weddings start at £1,500 and can go up to £15,000 if it's a destination wedding with multiple days involved. Please get in touch with what you have in mind and I'll come back to you with a detailed cost estimate which I will happily take you through.

Do I have to pay a deposit or booking fee?

Yes. For all wedding shoots there is a 25% fee of the total shoot fee, payable at the time you sign the contract for your shoot.

For portrait shoots, a fee of £75.00 is payable at the time of booking.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes.

Weddings
• cancel the shoot – 100% of booking fee payable
• cancel within six months of the wedding: 50% of total shoot fee payable
• cancel within three months of the wedding: 100% of total shoot fee payable

Portraits
• 48 hours notice required for all shoots
• Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice: 100% of portrait fee payable

Do you shoot more than one job in a day?

Not with weddings, they are most definitely one a day. But with portrait shoots, yes, especially in spring and summer when the days are longer, providing no shoot is ever compromised.

How long will it take for me to see my photographs?

Your shoot is an investment, so what I definitely do not do is just shoot, download and send. The editing process is crucial, it's where the images come to life, so it's not something to rush. Each image is carefully considered and edited accordingly to ensure I am totally happy with what I hand over to you. So, typically, the leadtime for portrait shoots is about seven days, and around four weeks for wedding shoots where there are many more images taken.

Why photography?

Since I was about 12 it’s all I have ever wanted to do. Travelling the world with a camera creating beautiful, timeless images of people and landscape is, for me, the best job in the world. Photography has always been my biggest passion and I don't ever see myself putting my camera down.

Do you ever turn commissions down?

Yes, I will always turn a job down if I feel the fit isn't right and therefore you won’t get my best work, for whatever reason. But that rarely happens, to be honest.
